The name “TheOkiKid” pays homage to my time in Okinawa, Japan, where I grew up as a military brat. The island’s rich culture, stunning art, and unique vibe left an indelible mark on me, shaping my creative vision and inspiring the name that now represents my brand. Being an American in a foreign country at such a young age becoming fully integrated with not only the land but its people and culture makes a big impression on me not only as an artist but as a human being. You can call me an otaku, a nerd, a geek. I fully embrace all of those labels and more. I never shy away from the person of who I am nor do I prevent myself from further growth both professionally and personally through others’ influence.
